Video Tutorials: How to set up a Slate Frame?
Below, you'll find two video tutorials on how to set up a professional slate frame. I prefer students to use a slate frame when they stitch one of my goldwork designs. Knowing that your fabric will stay put throughout your project is one less thing you have to worry about when you are learning a new embroidery technique!
The first video is in English and shows you how to prepare your slate frame with a piece of linen. The second video is in German and it also starts with sewing a piece of linen onto the slate frame. However, it then continues to show you how to add a piece of silk on top of the linen. For those of you who do not understand German, but still want to know how to add that piece of silk, watch the English version and then watch all or just the end (from 24:59) of the German video. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions!
