Sotema 190L Bisso - 100% Linen embroidery fabric
Beautiful lightweight evenweave 52ct Italian white linen with a smooth surface and excellent quality of the fibres. Although it is fine linen with a high thread count the individual holes are clearly visible.
This fabric is excellent for the recreation of all kinds of medieval embroidery. Just like they did back then, you would need to back this fine linen with a slightly sturdier one (for instance Sotema 30L Ricamo). Its fineness allows you to get the expert detail in the silk embroidery as seen on medieval pieces. At the same time, the clearly visible holes make the counted thread goldwork techniques seen in the medieval pieces a breeze. It even holds up perfectly with underside couching!
