Beautiful mediumweight evenweave 48ct Italian off-white linen with a smooth surface and excellent quality of the fibres. Although it is fine linen with a high thread count the individual holes are clearly visible.
This fabric is excellent for the recreation of all kinds of medieval embroidery. It can be used on its own without a backing fabric. Its fineness allows you to get the expert detail in the silk embroidery as seen on medieval pieces. At the same time, the clearly visible holes make the counted thread goldwork techniques seen in the medieval pieces a breeze. It even holds up perfectly with underside couching!
